This application must be filed and deposits made with the church office at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled use and entered on the church calendar.   No use of fellowship hall without prior approval.

The Swansea United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and Kitchen CHECK LIST must be turned in before any deposits made are returned.

 

 

 

 

SWANSEA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FELLOWSHIP HALL AND KITCHEN CHECK LIST

  1. ______ ALL POTS, PANS, DISHES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT WASHED AND DRIED.
  2. ______ALL POTS, PANS, DISHES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT SECURED AND BACK ON SHELVES AND/OR IN CABINETS AS FOUND.
  3. _____CLEAN ALL COUNTER TOPS, TABLES, SINKS AND REMOVE ALL DEBRIS FROM SAME.
  4. _____SWEEP AND MOP THE KITCHEN FLOOR.
  5. _____VACUUM THE CARPET IN FELLOWSHIP HALL.
  6. _____PLACE ALL TABLES AND CHAIRS IN FELLOWSHIP HALL IN ORIGINAL POSITIONS.
  7. _____ALL TRASH AND GARBAGE REMOVED FROM CHURCH BUILDING, INCLUDING ALL RECEPTACLES IN BATHROOMS.
  8. _____PLACE ALL SOILED DISH CLOTHES, TOWELS AND APRONS IN BAGS TO BE LAUNDERED AND LEFT ON TABLE IN KITCHEN.
  9. _____TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS IN KITCHEN, FELLOWSHIP HALL, CLOSTS AND BATHROOM LIGHTS AND VENT FANS (SWITCH NEXT TO LIGHT).
  10. _____RETURN THERMOSTAT SETTTING AS SHOWN NEXT TO THERMOSTAT FOR FELLOWSHIP HALL.  TURN KITCHEN (OFF) IN HALLWAY NEXT TO KITCHEN.
  11. _____LOCK ALL DOORS (CHECK ALL OUTSIDE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE LOCKED).
  12. _____FELLOWSHIP HALL AND KITCHEN WAS LEFT IN AS GOOD CONDITION OR BETTER THAN I FOUND IT.

BUILDING USE CONTRACT

CIVIC AND COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS

Name of organization: __________________________________________________________________

  1. Responsibility of Church:

We are committed to providing organizations with a clean and comfortable environment for meeting, suited to the organization’s needs.  We will open the building at the appropriate time and/or provide a key.  We will set the thermostat to ensure a comfortable gathering.  We will maintain the facilities used by the community groups.  We will provide the name and number of the SUMC Board of Trustees Chairperson, so that if any need arises, he/she may be reached by the organizations representative.

  1. Responsibility of Organization:

We request of any organization the following:

  • That you turn out all the lights and lock all doors upon departure.
  • That you not make any copies of key(s) given to you for the organization’s use, and that you return all keys if/when your group ceases to use our facilities.
  • That you utilize only the space or room(s) appropriated for you.
  • That you keep that space clean and neat, removing any perishable garbage before your departure and repair any damage your group may have caused (or notify the Church Trustee if you cannot repair damage).
  • That the organization’s liaison to the church sign the Building use Contract and abide by all provisions therein.
  • That you notify the Church Trustees of any part of the church’s commitment that is not fulfilled.
  •  Waiver of Responsibilities for Personal Property:

The church is not responsible for any items brought into the church building by individuals.  By signing the attached building use contract, the group or organization and all its members release the church from all responsibility for any and all personal property and waive any and all rights on litigation should damage or theft occur for any reason.

  1.  Waiver of Responsibility for Person Injury:

By signing the attached building use contact, the organization and all of its members release the church from responsibility for any personal injury and waive any and all rights to litigation should injury or illness occur for any reason.
